Jeremy Bobbitt, 35, joined Models for Charity in the fall of 2011 since his fiancée Robin was in it and he wanted to do something good with his time. He enjoyed going to the events and knew that being involved would contribute to supporting good causes as well. The thing about MFC that impresses him the most is, “The ability to take nothing and turn it into something.” Through his involvement, he has noted how the people who come to the meetings are passionate enough to pull the resources together to put together a production that enough people are interested in attending. “I had no experience modeling before starting MFC,” Jeremy admits. Since joining, “I have done a few Saks shows and was also a bartender at the 2011 Anniversary Show. If I had more time, I would like to do more behind the scenes stuff like helping with the website.”
By profession, he is a Professional Services Engineer for Bronto Software, which is an e-commerce company that deals mostly in email marketing solutions. In describing his everyday work, he says, “I am a programmer that deals directly with clients. I work with companies that may not have programmers on site and will write code for them to integrate with our software. I also do consulting to help the ones that do have programmers understand how to integrate with our software.” Jeremy has a B.S. in Computer Science from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. He is from Hope Mills, which is about 90 minutes south of Raleigh, near Fayetteville, NC. He says he likes Raleigh because it has many people who are his age who have similar interests. Like many people, he favors that not only are there many things to do, but it’s close to the beach and the mountains.
When asked what Jeremy’s favorite thing to do is, he answers without hesitancy that it is spending time with his new wife. Robin and Jeremy had a magical wedding on September 14, 2012. “I love hiking with her, sitting around the house with her or going out to a place with sweet beers and just hanging out,” he says when talking about their time together. He also enjoys participating in many of the run clubs around Raleigh and Durham such as nOg Run Club, Centro Run, Natty Greene’s Run Club, and Full Steam! Ahead Run Club and competing in 5k’s. He also supports, “Anything that is for a good cause. I like Habitat for Humanity and SPCA.”
What has he taken from this group? “You don’t have to be a model to model.”
